Description
Painted wood, styrofoam, color print, ribbon, artificial flowers and bird, metal plaques, plastic and resin ornaments, leather toolbelt with tools and cigarette package. Home made shrine composed of whited pained wooden base encirced by tool belt with engraved memorial plaque surmounted by photograph of Joseph D. Mistrulli surrouned by red artificial flowers, flanked by ceramic religious statuary and topped with a white artificial bird. Contents of toolbelt: hand saw, utility knike, carpenter's pencil, wire snips, small brick (?), tape measure, empty packet of Marlboro light menthol cigarettes, book of matches, claw hammer.

This shrine was made by Philomena Mistrulli and her children in memory of her husband, and their father, a carpenter who was killed while working at Windows On The World on the morning of 9/11. Mrs. Mistrulli, family and friends integrated personally significant objects including Mr. Mistrulli's tool belt, photographs and a pack of cigarettes to create this shrine. It held a place of honor in the carpenter's workplace at Ground Zero.
