This button was sponsored by the International Socialist Organization (ISO), and was obtained and worn at a demonstration in New York City, protesting against U.S. and allied forces' invasion of Iraq. It communicates the popular belief that the war was waged in order to exploit and profit from Iraqi oil reserves. The war officially began on Wednesday, March 19, and ended on Thursday, May 1, 2003.
