Description 
A dark gray colored metal Austrian military insignia pin embossed with a central oval frame around a relief of two soldiers skiing down a forested slope. The frame is topped with shields and banners flanked by the numbers "1914 1916" over the word "Schneeschuhtruppe", for the German or Austrian ski battalions. World War I.
