Description
Red Maltese cross with four double-headed crowned eagles in the interstices; a white enamel central medallion contains two intertwined S's in gold, both on the obverse and reverse. Russian Order of Saint Stanislas.

Gallery Label
The Russian Order of Saint Stanislas (Orden sv. Stanislava) was established by King Stanislas II Poniatowski, the last King of Poland, in 1765. A branch of the Order was created in Russia after the Congress of Vienna. There are three classes of this order: Knights Grand Cross, Commanders, and Companions. The double headed eagles on the badge represent the white eagle of Poland.
