Description
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing nude bust of Allston facing right with legend: "WASHINGTON ALLSTON." Reverse depicts female figure presenting laurel wreath to artist with sculptor awaiting his turn; legend: "AMERICAN ART-UNION."; date below "1847", all within beaded border. Square black leather fitted case with dark red silk velvet lining.
