Description
Aluminum struck medal with obverse showing image of interior within central roundel, with man seated behind writing desk at center, flanked by two standing men, their names indicated from left to right: "LIVINGSTON"; "DONGAN"; "SCHUYLER"; surrounding legend within line border: "PIETER SCHUYLER RECEIVING THE CHARTER FROM GOVERNOR DONGAN/JULY 22 1686." Reverse depicts seal of Albany within shield surmounted by sailing ship, scroll beneath shield is inscribed: "ASSIDUITY"; legend around line border: "IN COMMEMORATION of the TWO HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY of the CITY OF ALBANY N.Y./1886."
