Description
Aluminum struck medals with obverse showing three-quarter bust-length portrait of Columbus facing left within central roundel with legend: "CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS"; surrounding legend within line border: "MEMENTO FO THE WORLD'S FAIR/CHICAGO 1893." Reverse shows winged female figure representing Columbia with cornucopia and burning torch, surrounded by putti, appearing before group of Native Americans; dates on border: "MCCCCXCII", below, and "MDCCCXCII", above.
