Brass struck medal with obverse showing figure of Admiral Vernon facing right, holding sword in left hand and receiving with his right hand the sword of Don Blass, kneeling at right and facing left, with both hands extended; legend within line border: "THE SPANISH PRIDE PULL D DOWN BY ADMIRAL VERNON"; in exergue: "G/BRADBURY." Reverse depicts group of sailing ships with legend around line border: "WHO TOOK PORTO BELLO WITH SIX SHIPS ONLY"; inscription in exergue: "NOV 2 1739."
