Description
Aluminum struck medal with obverse depicting standing figures of Native American and British military officer within central roundel; legend around line border: "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE BATTLE OF LAKE GEORGE FOUGHT SEPTEMBER 8 1755"; inscription in exergue: "HENDRICK . JOHNSON." Reverse contains heraldic device at center, surrounded by laurel wreath and surmounted by British royal crown; legend around line border: "SOCIETY OF COLONIAL WARS IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK/MONUMENT DEDICATED SEPTEMBER 8 1903." Medal is suspended on red, white and blue silk gros-grain ribbon with metal closure.
