Bronze struck medal with obverse showing bust-length portrait of Moliere (Jean Baptiste de Poquelin, French dramatist and founder of the Comedie Francaise); legend: "COMEDIE FRANCAISE. 1680." Reverse depicts characters of the Comedie Francaise plays with their names inscribed beneath; sailing ship in background; inscription: "LA/COMEDIE FRANCAISE/AUX ETATS-UNIS/D'AMERIQUE/1955."
