This doll belonged to one of the Liebenow sisters, most likely Adella Liebenow Wotherspoon, who was the last living survivor of the General Slocum steamer disaster of 1904. Little Adella pulled the cord to unveil a monument honoring the 1,021 passengers who had perished in the fire. The then 20 month old Adella had lost her sisters Anna and Helen, whose body was never recovered.
