Charles Malcolm Wilson (1914-2000), a Republican, became Governor of New York State in 1973 when Nelson Rockefeller resigned. In 1974 Wilson ran for Governor with Ralph Caso of Nassau County as his running mate. They were defeated by Hugh Carey, Democrat.
