Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion is a groundbreaking exhibition that explores the Chinese American experience and addresses the challenges of immigration, citizenship, and belonging from the late-18th century to the present, through approximately 200 objects including historic documents, maps, artworks, photographs, and artifacts.

Anna May Wong Tee Shirt by Anna Sui – $77
For our exhibition Chinese American: Exclusion/Inclusion, designer Anna Sui collaborated with the New-York Historical Society to create an exclusive shirt derived from her Fall 2014 Anna May Wong inspired collection. Los Angeles-born Anna May Wong (1905-1961) was the first Chinese American movie star and the first Asian American actress to gain international recognition. Ms. Wong’s 1924 Certificate of Identity photograph is featured in the exhibition.
