In conjunction with the exhibition Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans, actress Frances McDormand will introduce a screening of the live-action film adaptation of the beloved storybook series. The 1998 film Madeline was directed by Daisy von Scherler Mayer, and stars Frances McDormand as Miss Clavel, Nigel Hawthorne as Lord Covington, and Hatty Jones as Madeline. 88 min.
There is no additional cost to attend the film besides the price of museum admission. Due to limited space, attendees are encouraged to pre-purchase museum admission for the event. Tickets will be sold on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before the film, families can celebrate Madeline by visiting the exhibition Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans, creating a finger puppet of their favorite character, hearing the Madeline story read aloud, and getting a Madeline tattoo!
