Institute for Constitutional History

ICH is a leading national forum for interdisciplinary study of American constitutional history. The Institute offers advanced seminars, as well as workshops devoted to improving the teaching of constitutional history. These are designed for doctoral students, junior faculty members, lawyers, and educators from around the world. Offered free of charge, the seminars and workshops are open to qualified candidates by application only.

ICH is located at the New-York Historical Society and the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C. The Institute is co-sponsored by the American Historical Association, the American Political Science Association, and the Organization of American Historians. The Association of American Law Schools is a cooperating entity.

The ICH collaborates with Cambridge University Press on its series Cambridge Studies on the American Constitution and with the American Historical Association on its pamphlet series New Essays on American Constitutional History.
