Shake Your Roots! with Alastair Moock

Family Program
Shake Your Roots! with Alastair Moock
Sun, April 29th, 2012 | 2:00 pm

Singin’ and dancin’ — that’s what it’s all about! Alastair leads kids in sing-and-move-alongs of original and classic American tunes, including songs by Woody Guthrie, Mississippi John Hurt, and Leadbelly. Students will be up on their feet, moving their bodies, finding their voices and engaging with the vibrant history of American folk and blues music. Alastair’s performances are appropriate for kids of all ages.
In 2007 he was nominated for a Boston Music Award for Outstanding Singer/Songwriter of the Year. The Boston Globe calls him “one of the town's best and most adventurous songwriters” and The Washington Post says “every song is a gem.”

Free with Museum admission.
