Vineyard History

After gaining years of experience in the food industry, Barbara Shinn and David Page decided to move to New York and plant 20 acres of grapevines. In 1998, they build their estate winery and Farmhouse bed and breakfast, which has been named as one of the top ten US wine destinations by Gayot and Food and Wine. In 2010 a solar and wind power system was installed making Shinn Estate Vineyards and Farmhouse the first East Coast winery and Inn to be solely powered by alternative energy. Barbara grows the wine at Shinn Estate Vineyards utilizing holistic farming techniques that result in wines that show both grace and clarity. While David works with winemaker, Patrick Caserta, to steward the wines from vineyard to table. The wines of Shinn Estate Vineyards have received praise from the New York Times, Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Wine Enthusiast, Food and Wine as well as scores of other local and national publications.
