Starting September 8, Remembering 9/11 will be on view Tuesday to Saturday 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday 11 am – 5 pm. Other galleries reopen November 11. Because of construction, the Patricia D. Klingenstein Library of the New-York Historical Society will be open by appointment only Tuesday–Friday from September 13 until November 11, 2011.
The renovation is the New-York Historical Society’s most ambitious construction project since the completion of the existing building in 1938. It will bring new levels of openness and lightness to the building, while improving New-York Historical’s ability to serve the public and showcase its collections and exhibitions. Visitors will immediately be drawn into the compelling stories New-York Historical has to tell.
