Stop by the New-York Historical Society during our annual train-filled December School Vacation Week! Go on a special “I Spy” scavenger hunt through Holiday Express: Toys and Trains from the Jerni Collection, play at our train table, settle in to listen to a classic train story, and even make a train-themed craft to take home!  

Holiday Express “I Spy” Scavenger Hunt

Recommended for ages 4 and up 

I spy with my little eye a dog, a ship, and even a flying machine! Pick up an “I Spy” scavenger hunt to get the whole family started on an adventure through the special exhibition Holiday Express. Kids and adults alike will delight in discovering unexpected surprises tucked amongst all the toys and trains!

Train Tales and Crafts
Daily, 2 pm
All Ages
Come hear a classic train storybook read aloud and stay for a related craft activity. Train books for the week include The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper; Steam Train, Dream Train written by Sherri Duskey Rinker and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld; Shark vs. Train written by Chris Barton and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld; and more!
