Hablemos de la Historia y del Arte
Saturday, February 15th, 2020 | 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Ages 4–10 with their adults, free with RSVP to hablemos@nyhistory.org

¡Bienvenidos!

Welcome!
As a token of love or a memorial to a lost loved one, human hair has long been incorporated into objects of adornment.  Join us with your family to experience the installation Life Cut Short: Hamilton’s Hair and Art of Mourning Jewelry with a Spanish-speaking educator and see incredible pieces, like a gold mourning ring containing a lock of founding father Alexander Hamilton’s hair. Afterwards, head to the classroom and create your own mourning jewelry using artificial hair and other materials.

Once a month, Spanish-speaking families experience New York and American history through gallery tours and creative art projects, led by a Spanish-language educator.

The program is free, but participants must make a reservation. To reserve a spot for families or to get more information for Spanish language school, community, or cultural-group visits, email us at hablemos@nyhistory.org.

Please contact familyprograms@nyhistory.org for more information and pricing.
