Saturday, 10 am–6 pm;
Sunday, 11 am–5 pm

Meet the Spies, Bodyguards,
and Agents: 11 am–3 pm

Enter George Washington’s Headquarters Tent and experience where he strategized, dined, and slept. Hear from Museum of the American Revolution educators as they detail Washington’s daily life with his troops.

Your top-secret mission this weekend: Meet Washington himself—as portrayed by Living Historian Michael Grillo—and examine how he planned for his battle campaigns. Confer with Washington’s spies, Robert Townsend and the mysterious Agent 355—portrayed by Michael Goudket and Maria Grillo, respectively—and decode a crucial message. You’ll also meet one of Washington’s special bodyguards, portrayed by Norman Goben.

Check out Revolutionary Summer for a full roster of related programs for all ages.

Also: Enjoy our outdoor bar! Cash only for beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and light snacks. All ages, but ID required to purchase alcohol.

George Washington’s Headquarters Tent
Step inside the world of General George Washington as he leads the Continental Army to victory. The centerpiece of Revolutionary Summer, a replica of Washington's Headquarters Tent is on display in our outdoor courtyard on select weekends this summer. On loan from the Museum of the American Revolution (MoAR), the painstakingly detailed, hand-sewn replica was created in a collaboration between MoAR and Colonial Williamsburg. The Tent is staffed by MoAR educators, who lead visitors on an immersive tour through history.

Lead support for Revolutionary Summer provided by The Achelis and Bodman Foundation. Additional support provided by Richard Brown and Mary Jo Otsea. Support for the Museum of the American Revolution’s participation in Revolutionary Summer is generously provided by William and Candace Raveis.
