FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I RSVP?
If you're already a Family member, you'll receive an invitation in late October. If you recently joined, you can expect an email soon with the RSVP link. We have instituted timed arrivals this year. When you RSVP, indicate the number of guests in your party and select your preferred time of arrival: 12 pm, 1:30 pm, or 3 pm.

How many people can I bring? Can I buy additional tickets?
Members at the Family level may RSVP for up to four people total; Members at the Friend level or above may have six total. Click here to upgrade your Membership or call (212) 485-9279. No additional tickets will be available outside of the membership allotment.

How do I get into the event?
We'll send wristbands for each member of your party. Entrance to the event will be through the NYPD security checkpoint at Columbus Ave. and West 76th St.(subject to change by the NYPD). Guests without wristbands will not be permitted to enter.

When can I expect my wristbands?
You'll receive wristbands in the mail 7–10 business days after you RSVP.

What is the best way to get to the Museum on Nov. 27?
Public transportation is highly recommended—the roads are blocked off in preparation for the inflation and parade. We suggest taking the B or C train to 72nd St. and walking up Columbus Ave. to the security checkpoint on 76th St.

When should I arrive?
We have extended the hours for the event this year and instituted timed arrivals. The surrounding streets can be extremely crowded and long lines are anticipated, so we recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to your preferred entry time.

Is the Museum open during the event? What can I see?
Yes! The Museum is open from 12–5 pm exclusively for event attendees. Explore the DiMenna Children's History Museum, the permanent collection, and current exhibitions, including Beyond Midnight: Paul Revere, Mark Twain and the Holy Land, Holiday Express: All Aboard to Richard Scarry’s Busytown, and more!

How long can I stay at the event?
No matter which arrival time you select, you are welcome to stay as long as you'd like until closing time at 5 pm.

Will there be snacks?
Refreshments will be served until 4 pm, while supplies last.

What time are the balloons inflated?
The inflation begins around 1 pm. We highly recommend arriving on the earlier side of the day to avoid crowds.

Can I bring my stroller?
You may bring a stroller, but we will have limited stroller parking inside the Museum.
