"Women March" Family Day

Celebrate International Women’s Day and the exhibition Women March with award-winning children’s author and illustrator Vashti Harrison! Explore 200 years of women’s rights activism and commemorate the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote in 1920. Meet historical interpreters portraying legendary leaders of the women’s rights movement, create inspiring posters, and show us what a feminist looks like! 

Program highlights include:

—Q&A and book signing with Vashti Harrison (12–1 pm)

Meet LGBTQ icon Sylvia Rivera as portrayed by Summer Minerva (12:30, 1:30, 2:30 pm)

—March with the suffragists (ongoing throughout event)

—Create wearable suffragist sashes and pins (ongoing throughout event)
