Spun silver coffeepot; plain hemispherical lower body made in halves and joined around the middle with a die-rolled decorative band; band of hearts and foliate scrolls on a textured ground between two plain bands; applied, plain vertical footring; applied, narrow flared cylindrical neck with an applied, vertical beaded rim; hinged, low domed lid with a ball on disk finial; cast in halves and seamed loop handle with a pointed leaf thumbpiece with leaf and berry motif below; stylized acanthus upper handle socket and shield-shaped lower socket fitted with ivory insulators; high, cast and seamed, curved spout with three chased lines up each side; "1871" engraved in overlapping gothic numerals on the front centers, "M A B" engraved in gothic script on the rear centers; maker's marks on the bases.
