This diminutive flashlight became an essential way-finding tool on Thursday, August 14, 2003, when it helped Steven Taylor and Amy Weinstein light their way from Manhattan, where they were working, to their apartment in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. The massive blackout on August 14 paralyzed New York City as well as much of the northeast, stranding thousands of workers living in the outer boroughs and suburbs without public transportation.
