Description:
White metal struck medal, issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Friedrich von Schiller (1759-1805), a German dramatist and poet; with obverse showing clothed bust of Friedrich Schiller facing right with legend: "FRIEDRICH V. SCHILLER." Reverse contains inscription within laurel and oak wreath: "ZUR/100 JAHRIGEN/FEIER/VON/SCHILLERS/GEBURTSTAG/NEW-YORK/AM/10 NOVEMBER 1859."
