"Game of Baseball" board game in a paper covered cardboard and wood box with a paper covered cardboard bi-fold gameboard, two cardboard and metal spinners, a paper instruction sheet, two paper score cards and seven metal playing pieces in the form of baseball players on round metal bases; on cover of cardboard box, lithographed illustration of two teams of men playing baseball, with a man in the upper left corner in a red and white uniform pitching; box cover inscribed, "GAME OF/ BASE-BALL/ Copyrighted 1886 by/ McLoughlin Bro's/ New York"; board represents a baseball diamond with two spinners in opposite corners.

The Liman Collection includes four different versions of baseball board games reflecting Victorians' passion for the nation's favorite sport. Game of Base-ball, a later version of a game designed by McLoughlin in the 1850s, includes painted metal game pieces in the form of baseball players.
