Bronze cast medallion with obverse depicting clothed bust of Washington facing left with tied fasces at right, dividing inscription: "PATER/PAT/RIAE/MDCCL/XX/XIX"; legend on star-studded border: "GEORGE WASHINGTON." Reverse with border of stars shows American eagle with spread wings at upper center and seal of New York at lower right; inscription: "TO.COMMEMORATE/THE.INAVGVRATION/OF.GEORGE.WASHINGTON/AS.FIRST.PRESIDENT.OF.THE/VNITED-SATES-OF-AMERICA/AT.NEW-YORK-APRIL.XXX/M.D.C.C.LXXXIX./BY.AVTHORITY.OF/THE.COMMITTEE/ON.CELEBRATION/NEW.YORK-APRIL/.XXX/.M.D.C.C.C.L.XXXIX."
