Anna Livingston Read Street was the only daughter of William Ingraham Street and Susan Watts (Kearney) Street of Poughkeepsie. She became the second wife of Levi Parsons Morton on February 12, 1873. Mrs. Morton was a famous hostess while her husband was U.S. minister to France, and after the death of the wife of President Benjamin Harrison, she served as official hostess of the White House.
