Sword with slightly curved, single-edged iron blade; half-basket type iron guard with knuckle-bow and two branches on obverse side joining an oval counter-guard, wooden grip, and Phrygian helmet-shaped iron pommel.
According to the accession records, this sword was found in 1929 between 40th and 44th Streets, in New York City, while excavations were under way for the foundations of the Tudor City apartment development.
