Ground Floor Event Spaces
The Robert H. and Clarice Smith New York Gallery of American History
Located right off our grand entrance on Central Park West, the Gallery is ideal for registration, breaks, and cocktail receptions. Among the highlights: a brand able display wall and six columns with customizable digital monitors.
The Robert H. Smith Auditorium
The perfect venue for film screenings, upfronts, concerts, panel discussions, or TED-style talks, our sleek modern auditorium retains the charm of an intimate theater while offering state-of-the-art theatrical equipment. Our in-house AV teams provides extensive, complimentary support.
Looking for the perfect intimate setting that's outdoors? Explore New-York Historical Society's back courtyard, where we can host socially-distanced events. Even better: We’re installing a tent over the courtyard in spring 2022.
2nd Floor Event Spaces
Patricia D. Klingenstein Library
The Library boasts neoclassical architecture; soaring, 50-foot ceilings; and magnificent stained-glass windows that were gifted to New-York Historical in 1908. It's often rented along with nearby Dexter Hall.
Host a dinner, cocktail party, or talk while offering your guests exclusive access to our permanent collection, including striking artworks like Le Tricorne, a painted stage curtain that's the largest Picasso on display in North America.
4th Floor Event Spaces
Gallery of Tiffany Lamps
Reception: 300 guests
A stunning display of 100 illuminated Tiffany lamps in a two-level, dramatically-lit space that's connected by a glowing glass staircase. When the Gallery is rented along with adjacent spaces, the entire fourth floor can accommodate up to 350 guests.
