Scare yourself silly at our annual Hallowe’en party! Wear your costume, bring your grown-up, and join us inside the Museum and outside in the courtyard, where we're celebrating the New-York Historical exhibition Beyond Midnight: Paul Revere. Among the activities in store:

  • Ride a real pony (Outdoor courtyard)
  • Add to our glow-in-the-dark wall mural (Outdoor courtyard)
  • Create your own horse on a stick (Outdoor courtyard)
  • Pick and decorate pumpkins from our patch (Outdoor courtyard)
  • Play "Pin the Tail on the Horse" (Lower-level classroom)
  • Create your own candy bags (Lower-level classroom)
  • Listen to spooky stories (DCHM Library)
  • Craft secret messages with our Living Historian spymaster (Lower-level classroom)
  • Trick-or-treat for candy (Everywhere!)

In case of bad weather, activitiesbut not the pony, unfortunatelywill be moved inside the Museum.

Cast your vote now in the Hallowe'en Statue Costume Contest! Every year, New-York Historical's beloved statues of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass get into the Hallowe'en spirit. Go to the History Detectives blog and vote on what costume they should wear.
