Explore the key sights in George Washington’s New York—the city Washington considered critical to victory in the American Revolution and the nation’s first capital under the Constitution.

Barnet Schecter is the author of George Washington’s America: A Biography Through His Maps and The Devil’s Own Work: The Civil War Draft Riots and the Fight to Reconstruct America.
