New-York Historical is temporarily closed to the public to help contain the spread of COVID-19. Pending local and state approvals, we will reopen August 14 with a free, outdoor exhibition, Hope Wanted: New York City Under Quarantine, in our rear courtyard. On September 11, the Museum will reopen indoors, with safety protocols in place for visitors and staff. Check back here for further updates.
In the meantime, we encourage you to stay connected with us online and explore all of our digital content, including the Shelby White and Leon Levy Digital Library, the New-York Historical Museum Collection, audio and video from past Public Programs, the History @ Home Education programs, and much more. In addition, sign up for one of our Virtual Presentations, live, interactive journeys through history with a Museum docent or curator on Zoom, an easy-to-use videoconferencing platform. We'll also be offering curated content on our weekly eblast, so sign up to receive it if you haven’t yet!
