Richard Fitch's Exemplary Penmanship

Richard Fitch's Exemplary Penmanship

Richard Fitch, a 14-year old boy, presents math examples matched with lovely penmanship for the 1816 Examination Day. Richard had attended the school for six and a half years. During that time, Richard would have witnessed the fear that gripped New York City during the War of 1812, and he would have been a student when fire destroyed the original school building on Cliff Street.
