[Albany Federal Committee List]

To the Independent Electors, of the City and County of Albany

Albany, N.Y.: Printed by Charles R. Webster, 1788
New-York Historical Society Library

Both parties, those for the Constitution (Federalists) and those against (Antifederalists), printed election lists of candidates for the Convention, the Assembly, and the Senate. This broadside, dated March 14, was also printed in the Albany newspapers: the Albany Journal, the Federal Herald, and the Albany Gazette. This is the Federalist list, which calls for the Convention to ratify unconditionally, but to recommend amendments. These amendments eventually became the Bill of Rights.
